Dr. Abdul-Raouf Kdeish was a general surgery specialist. He graduated from the Arab Medical University in 2004 and initially worked in the general surgery department in Tripoli, Libya before moving to South Africa for training and specialisation in surgery. He is survived by four children, the eldest of whom is only 12 years old. Dr Kdeish was one of a number of Libyan doctors who come to South Africa for specialist training. 

A gofundme page has been started for the family of Lybian-born doctor Abdul-Raouf Kdeish, who died of COVID-19 complications while fighting the pandemic at Arwyp Medical Centre in Kempton Park.
