The latest research and trends in paediatrics and child health will be presented at this much-anticipated Wits event, which will feature a full day of psychosocial activities with a strong patient focus.

The conference will host a Paediatric Multi-disciplinary Programme aimed at meeting the needs of patients with rare, chronic or life-threatening diseases.

The 7th UpToSpaed Conference 2019, an educational and networking event covering the latest trends in Paediatrics and Child Health, is expected to attract widespread support from those specialising in, and interested in, this challenging area.

Taking place at Wits University from 20 – 23 June 2019, this event presents an excellent opportunity for networking, information exchange and sharing of case studies. The programme includes a focus on ethics with sessions devoted to this topic. There will be pre-conference workshops on emerging researchers and radiotherapy, and a full day of psychosocial activities with a strong patient focus. All activities are CPD accredited.

Besides being a valuable educational event, the funds generated constitute the most consistent source of funding for the three main teaching hospitals in Johannesburg that train paediatricians and allied health workers in related paediatric fields. Over the years, paediatric activities at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital and Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital, have all benefited from this revenue.

In line with modern conferencing trends, the UpToSpaed 2019 Conference will be ‘going green’, also reflecting the necessity for protecting the planet for the children of the future.

Europa Organisation Africa (EOA), committed to best practice in medical and healthcare event management, has been engaged as the organiser of the UpToSpaed 2019 meeting.
