Specific risk factors for contracting COVID-19 have been reported in physicians with different specialties. When it comes to some facets of this disease, otolaryngologists can be considered high risk. Because conducting these procedures places one in close contact with the virus, which occurs mainly in the nose and nasopharynx, there has been debate and considerable concern about endoscopic examination of patients in the office, especially nasal endoscopy and versatile laryngoscopy.
