Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) research has advanced steadily over the past century, but at breakneck pace in the last two decades. Improvement standards and continuous indexes were introduced at the turn of the century, allowing for accurate clinical response assessment, including the concept of endpoints such as remission. Our knowledge of the function of disease occurrence in relation to disease pathology has also improved, resulting in the treat-to-target definition, guidelines, and best-possible outcomes for RA patients.
