Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine and reproductive disorder with a prevalence ranging from 5% to 13% in women of reproductive age. Women with PCOS suffer an imbalance of female sex hormones. The imbalance may prevent the development and release of mature eggs. Without a mature egg, neither ovulation nor pregnancy can occur.

Prof Genazzani BIO
Chief of the Section of Gynaecological Endocrinology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Modena, Italy. Degrees in Endocrinology (1986), in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (1990) and a PhD on “Human psychobiology” in 1994. He is an associate Professor and Secretary of the Post Graduate School at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Modena, Italy. Prof Genazzani is author or co-author of 200 original papers published in international peer reviewed journals and editor/co-editor of 14 scientific volumes.
