Dr Corli Lodder (Cornelia M Lodder) is the founder of the Allergy and Asthma clinic in George, Western Cape. She is a GP with a special interest in allergic diseases. In 2003 she received the Diploma in Allergology at the SA College of Medicine. As member of “The SA Allergic Rhinitis Working Group” since 2006, she is involved in Allergic Rhinitis treatment guideline development.
The latest version was published in SAMJ in 2020. In 2007 she was appointed as part time researcher in the Department of Immunology at the University of Pretoria. The results of her research were presented at congresses both locally and internationally and resulted in four publications in International Journals. She was awarded a PhD in Nov 2011. The title of her PhD is: “Investigation of the neutrophil-directed anti-inflammatory properties of the cysteinyl leukotriene receptor antagonist, montelukast.”
After practising in Boksburg on the East Rand for 24 years, as a GP and running an Allergy clinic in the practice, she relocated to George in April 2019 again practicing as GP and seeing allergic patients. In April 2021, her dedicated Allergy and Asthma clinic opened in George focusing totally on Allergology and Asthma. She is actively involved in lecturing at CME events mainly for general practitioners and pharmacists, doing webinars and face-to-face talks as well as writing scientific articles. Since August 2022, she consults with allergic and asthmatic patients in Gqeberha once a month.
