The South African Glaucoma Society (SAGS) will be hosting its annual congress at the Zimbali Coastal Resort from 24 to 26 May this year.
The South African Glaucoma Society (SAGS) annual congress is an event eagerly anticipated by many South African ophthalmologists. The 2019 Congress will be held at the beautiful Zimbali Coastal Resort from 24 to 26 May and will feature presentations by international speakers, local specialists and registrars.
This year’s international speakers are Dr Ivan Goldberg, head of the Glaucoma Unit at Sydney Eye Hospital and a clinical professor at the University of Sydney, as well as Dr Keith Barton, a consultant ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist at Moorfields Eye Hospital, and editor-in-chief of the British Journal of Ophthalmology.
As per usual, a contest will be held to see which local registrar can submit the best presentation to the congress, to be adjudicated by the SAGS executive committee. This will consist of the presentation of, and elaboration on, a case study the registrar was involved in.
