PainSA, the local chapter of the International Association for the Study of Pain, will host their 2019 Congress at the Champagne Sports Resort in the Drakensberg from 3 to 5 May.
2019 is the International Association for the Study of Pain’s “Year against Pain in the Most Vulnerable”. PainSA, the local chapter of the International Association for the Study of Pain welcome you to the 2019 PainSA Congress which will focus on the many aspects of this theme including pain in children, pain in the elderly and pain in those with mental illness.
The PainSA Congress in 2019 will be held over 3 days in the wonderful Drakensberg – an ideal setting for us to realise one of the primary goals of our organisation – to improve communication between scientists and clinicians working on pain to improve the standard of care provided to patients with disabling pain.
The annual CPD-accredited PainSA Congress is one of the ways we have a positive impact on pain management in South Africa. The Congress provides all of us the opportunity to learn from experts about a range of topics in pain (which will range from the basic sciences to clinical application in vulnerable patient populations); and also gives practitioners the chance to interact with clinicians and researchers from around South Africa, Africa and the world.
PainSA would like to encourage you to take an active part in this congress by contributing to discussions, submitting scientific abstracts for presentation in the free papers and joining in the workshop activities. It is often through these discussions that ideas are shared, novel approaches to practice are proposed and developed, and research collaborations are formed.
