PCa accounted for more than 1.2 million new cases and caused more than 358 000 deaths (3.8% of all deaths caused by cancer in men) in 2018. According to the National Cancer Registry, South African men have a 1:19 risk for being diagnosed in their lifetime.4,5 Clinicians treating men with advanced PCa are challenged with the rapidly evolving prostate cancer landscape given the approval of new classes of agents for use in various prostate cancer disease states, note the authors of the 2020 American Urology Association (AUA) advance PCa guideline.1
